Turkic States Ski Cup successfully held

Through the support of the Organization of Turkic States and the joint initiative of the Union of Ski Resorts of the Turkic States, the Second Ski Cup of the Turkic States was successfully held.

The competitions took place at Uludağ Ski Resort and brought together around 100 skiing enthusiasts from Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.

In the Cup, held for the second time, pre-registered female and male athletes competed in three age categories: 18–25, 26–45 and 46+. The athletes contested for first place in the giant slalom discipline.

In the 18–25 age category, Sıla Kara (Türkiye) took first place among the women, while Aleksandr Tsvetkov (Kazakhstan) came first among the men. Mahmut Kazanc (Türkiye) was second and Muhammadali Asanov third.

In the 26–45 age category, Nataliya Lapshina (Kazakhstan) came first among the women, Elvira Zakarayeva (Azerbaijan) second and Buse Terim (Türkiye) third. Among the men, Jeyhun Balametov (Azerbaijan) took first place, Metehan Taşdemir (Türkiye) was second and Talip Gülle (Türkiye) third.

In the 46+ age category, Ali Akgül (Türkiye) climbed to the top of the podium. Kamil Şar (Türkiye) was second and Ömer Saraçer (Türkiye) third.

At the end of the competition, cups and medals were presented to the winning athletes, and various incentive gifts were given to the participants.

The main purpose of holding the Turkic States Ski Cup is to strengthen mutual cooperation among the Turkic peoples in the field of winter sports, to encourage the organization of joint competitions and to further popularize skiing across the Turkic world.

Kazakhstan and Türkiye have put forward their candidacies to host the next stage of the Cup.
