The 2nd Summit of the Union of Turkic Ski Resorts Held in Uzbekistan

The 2nd Summit of the Union of Turkic Ski Resorts, organized with the support of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), was held at Amirsoy Mountain Resort in Uzbekistan under the theme "From Peaks to Prosperity: The Joint Development of Mountain and Ski Resorts in Turkic States and Their Integration into Global Tourism."

The Summit brought together senior executives and representatives of mountain and ski resorts, as well as government officials from Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Türkiye.

The official opening ceremony featured a presentation highlighting the Union's key achievements over the past two years, including its major projects, international meetings, and sporting events organized during both the summer and winter seasons.

In his opening remarks, Rustam Najafov, Chairman of the Union of Turkic Ski Resorts, emphasized that within just two years the Union has evolved into an important platform for cooperation, strengthening collaboration among member resorts, promoting joint initiatives, and contributing to the international recognition of the Turkic world's mountain and winter tourism potential as a unified tourism destination.

He noted that the Union's continuous expansion, its growing reputation across the Turkic world, the strengthening of international partnerships, and the increase in membership from four to nine resorts clearly demonstrate its sustainable development and its emergence as one of the leading mountain tourism platforms in the region.

Speaking at the Summit, Rustamjon Raimjanov, General Director of Amirsoy Mountain Resort, stated that cooperation in mountain tourism among the Turkic States has entered a new stage of development. He noted that bringing together the experience, tourism potential, and rich cultural heritage of the Turkic States would lay a strong foundation for building a unified, competitive, and internationally recognized mountain and winter tourism brand.

He further stressed that strengthening ties among member resorts, implementing joint projects, and promoting common initiatives would significantly enhance the international visibility of the Turkic world's mountain tourism opportunities while reinforcing the region's position in the global tourism market.

As part of the Summit, panel discussions and presentations focused on expanding cooperation among member resorts, developing joint projects, promoting mountain tourism during the summer season, establishing tourism infrastructure that meets international standards, strengthening public-private partnerships, addressing the impact of climate change and global conflicts on tourism, implementing preventive measures against emerging challenges, integrating artificial intelligence into resort operations, and developing a highly skilled workforce for the tourism sector.

During the event, in accordance with the Union's Charter, the Chairmanship of the Union was officially transferred from Azerbaijan to Kazakhstan. Membership certificates were also presented to the newly admitted member resorts.

The Union of Turkic Ski Resorts was established in September 2024 with the support of the Organization of Turkic States. Today, the Union brings together nine mountain and ski resorts from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Türkiye.

The 3rd Summit of the Union of Turkic Ski Resorts will be hosted by Erciyes Mountain Resort in Kayseri, Türkiye.
