A meeting dedicated to the role of ski resorts and sporting events in the development of winter tourism was held with the joint organization of the Organization of Turkic States and the Union of Turkic Ski Resorts.
Officials of the Organization of Turkic States and representatives of the Union of Turkic Ski Resorts participated in the meeting.
In his remarks, Deputy Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States, Mirvohid Azimov, stated that cooperation in the field of tourism across the turkic world has entered a new phase. He emphasized that winter tourism, as well as winter sports competitions, play a significant role in the economies of Turkic States. He underlined the strategic importance of implementing joint projects, organizing common competitions, and developing unified tourism routes in this direction. Mirvohid Azimov noted that one of the priority areas of the Organization of Turkic States is to shape Turkic States as an integrated, competitive tourism destination operating under a unified approach at the international level.
Addressing the importance of strengthening coordination among mountain ski resorts of Turkic states, Secretary General of the Union of Turkic Ski Resorts, Orkhan Badalov, highlighted that the exchange of experience and the implementation of joint marketing initiatives would contribute to the formation of a common tourism brand in the future. He stressed that the Union’s primary objective is to develop sustainable cooperation mechanisms among member resorts, enhance service quality, and position the turkic world as one of the attractive centers for both winter and summer tourism.
Advisor to the Chairman of the State Tourism Agency, Kenan Guluzade, noted that international level sporting events hold a special place in the development of winter tourism and play a crucial role in increasing tourist attractiveness. He stated that, within the framework of cooperation established with international sports federations and organizations, the hosting of winter sports events has become an effective marketing tool to showcase the country’s tourism potential and has a positive impact on strengthening the country’s image. Kenan Guluzade also emphasized that such meetings create an important platform for deepening experience exchange among Turkic States, increasing awareness of events across member countries, promoting joint initiatives, developing a unified communication strategy, and enhancing mutual support.
During the meeting, participants discussed the development of a joint marketing strategy in the field of winter and mountain tourism among Turkic States, promotion of investment opportunities, professional training, expansion of cooperation, and several other issues.

It should be noted that the Union of Turkic Ski Resorts, established with the support of the Organization of Turkic States, currently brings together eight member resorts from Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan.
